The city-owned marina was built in 1974 at the east end of the harbor adjacent to Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island. The approach to Oak Harbor is well marked, but stay in the channel. Northwest of the #2 red buoy are several expensive rocks that are often covered or awash. Some of the markers are not illuminated and the background city lights may confuse the first time visitor at night.

The marina provides 420 slips including 217 open and 135 covered permanent slips, 52 guest moorage slips with ample side-tie moorage for boats up to 50 feet. and 96 dry storage garage type sheds that can accomodate boats up to 24 feet in length. Dry storage tenants and transient boaters may launch from the 6,500 pound monorail crane or from a 100 foot wide launching ramp that is operable at any tide.

Marina services include a fuel dock and propane station, pump-out station, restrooms, showers, laundry, ice supplies, and lockers. The marina is within walking distance of downtown “Harborside Shops” stores, restaurants, coffee houses, motels, and Windjammer Park facilities and amenities.
