The Whidbey Playhouse has produced community theatre shows for over 40 years from a converted church building located at the edge of the downtown district. Tickets may be acquired at the door or by e-mail.
The 128-seat Playhouse produces 5 plays and musical shows during the regular season September through June plus a youth theatre program with workshops and summer productions. Season shows run 14 performances for musicals and 10 performances for non-musicals usually scheduled on Thursday – Saturday evenings plus 2 matinees.
Auditions are open to everyone regardless of experience usually 45 to 60 days before a show opening. The Playhouse also provides instruction in the theatre arts for all age groups – new members and behind the scenes set builders, costumers, stagehands, ushers, and other volunteers are welcome.
